So, I've got my first drum set and I'm learning key beats, etc. Now, it's time to add songs with easy to play drums in them. I asked eESGe what he thought and he suggested Green Onions (awesome choice). I came up with Rumble by Link Wray. Figured I'd pose the question her in the TTR Cosmo in case someone else would like to chime in....

1. Green Onions (booker t and the mg's)
2. Rumble (link wray)
...
n.

Yep, gotta add that to the list...

1. Green Onions (booker t and the mg's)
2. Rumble (link wray)
3. My Woman From Tokyo (deep purple)
...
n.

MOST anything from AC/DC ----I LOVE drumming to AC/DC --- simple hard driving rhythms ---- helps you really work on your timing

Maybe not a beginner song but inagadadvida and this

Both songs that my best friend was playing in 5th grade

innagadadavida - I think it's a music law to learn that or something - and that short Ringo solo is a great idea.

1. Green Onions (booker t and the mg's)
2. Rumble (link wray)
3. My Woman From Tokyo (deep purple)
4. Like A Stone (audioslave)
5. Ringo Star Abby Road Drum Solo
6. Innagadadavida (iron butterfly)
...
n.

So ironic that Ringo’s “solo” is considered easy, but the rest of his drumming is a masterclass of subtlety and playing to the song, while still being deceptively complex and dynamic. He is a god.

Oh, and for a song- S.O.S. (Too Bad) by Aerosmith. Great tom/kick interaction in that tune.

Just about anything by bad company is a case in simple pocket rock solid timing type drumming. Simon Kirke cut his teeth listening incessantly to songs of his day and developing his ear and time keeping.

Just about all Bad CO songs have rudimentary drum grooves with simple nuances and fills one can learn a lot from technique wise of you study all Bad Co songs.

Some more cuts from that show,,,,,,,,,,,, PPView cut a bunch of songs from the set. A few are here as opposed to the previous bid I posted.

Warning: Spelling Correction Alert!

The correction below comes as a result of Smitty_p's anal-retentive inability to just let some things go. Also, since he suffered a minor aneurysm and experienced the discomfort of his eyeballs trading eye sockets upon reading the above spellings, the following correction is necessary to avoid any further injury.

*********

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The title of the song by Iron Butterfly is not a single word. The title consists of multiple words. The correct spelling of the title is as follows:

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Thank you for reading.
