Deciphering Joe Cocker

I had the privilege of seeing him on Saturday morning, at Woodstock 1994. Amazing.
I saw people crowd surfing to that song.

Don, was Woodstock as big of a mess as I imagine it was? I only have been to one crazy major event like that in 1974. California jam 1 was pretty crazy. We left about half way through ELP. They played the whole side one of Tarkus. It took us about 45 minutes to get back to my buddy's Pinto. I saw much of the mess later when they had it on television. There was no cable or internet back then. I do remember many beautiful young women running around naked. If I could do it again, I would pass on it. I like concerts where I can have a seat and I'm not there for an eternity.

I went with a good friend. We did extremely well with the conditions presented to us.
We figured out the food situation quickly, and found excellent solutions. We were the right age to understand how to have a good time without wrecking ourselves, completely.
There were others that didn't do so well. We saw some crazy sh*t too...good, and ...well...some stuff that was not for me...
But the shows were crazy awesome. Carlos Santana at sunset on Friday, playing The Star Spangled Banner...the Chilis with their heads on fire on Sunday morning...(I think it was morning)
It was an experience I'm glad that I had, and an experience that I don't need to repeat.
There were some people there that were my current age, and they didn't look like they were having a good time(at the Joe Cocker show in fact...their lawn chairs were swallowed up by a mud people mosh pit, three songs in) ...as I imagine I would, if I were to try something like that now.
We had a blast though, and saw some great performances.
