Hey, I don't see that center rise that usually indicates one piece neck construction lamination. Is this a Mahogany block body with a glued in neck er what are we look'n at here?

Firebird Studios are mortise and tenon construction, not neckthrough - this appears to be a Studio. They feel and sound a lot more like a "regular" Gibson, not really like the original Firebirds at all. Gibson went to glued-in necks on the "non-reverse" Firebirds starting in '65. For 2018 they have a Studio with P-90's and I am dying to try one.

Speaking of 1275's, Barry. My buddy Ron now in Florida has an Ibanez version. Pretty sure his looks like this.

Oh yeah. These Ibanez copies from the 70's were fvking balls! although I think most (if not all) had a bolt on construction. I could be wrong as my 1275 hunt for info was a while ago... & my brain, well... err,.. what were we talking about?....

Very much like an SG at that point! kinda sorta not really. ok, a little.. At least in the thin mahogany body glued in neck upper fret access aspect of it all.

Sort of, but the bodies are much thicker than an SG. My bandmate plays a non-reverse firebird and it plays more like a Les Paul than my Firebird. But, it has those kickass Firebird pickups so it sounds like a completely different beast, very different from my neckthrough 'bird in fact.

Barry, I can't say for sure if Ron's Ibanez was bolt on or not.
Ibanez was the only company named in that law suit. Ibanez made the the only copies that scared Gibson enough to take any action. The others were just rats hoping on the band wagon. Most of the so called law suit guitars are stone junk plywood and laughable.

Yes, Ibanez really made a decent Les Paul Copy. Because of this thread raising these question about imported guitars from 40+ years ago, I've just spent way tooo much time searching Ibanez info (being I'm not interested in buying one ATT) but despite that & despite not having an official Ibanez site dedicated (that I found) for these old guitar (Ibanez likes dwelling on there newer/available for sale guitars I reckon).. it seems that they did make both bolt & set neck model Les Pauls & SG doublenecks!!!

Figure the dramatic price difference into the equation & Gibson knew they HAD to sue or face possible financial destruction.
I remember my band-mate getting an Ibanez Les Paul in 1979 (I remember it as being a set neck with binding & nice inlay) & it honestly was a great playing, Les Paul sounding, Les Paul looking guitar! He 'LOVED" that guitar & I will concur it sounded beautiful through his Traynor 50 watt head & 6 x 10 cabinet. Ballz Deluxe!
So,.. after all this 'double' talk.. I had to go google up some Ibanez double neck stuff & find out about those necks!!
Below '75 Ibanez bolt on double-neck.
And to think this has a 2G asking price on Reverb.
And just when I read & looked at enough to start forming an opinion that these were all bolt on neck...

Please don't get me wrong! I rather repair a Les Paul than play an Ibanez! I won't take that Jap stuff over a Merican Guitar! I swallowed my terth. I have and love my Burny cause they never pissed any one off, two they never took any Merican jobs away. I do stand during the National Anthem! I have some German guns and if I was going to shoot my neighbor, it would be with my old Springfield!
Honestly: the "o" comes out looking like a "a" or "u". Van Herdan or Vun Herdun! Maybe I've had too many beers...
