Broke my Guitar Acquisition Habit:

Recently, I started just playing my guitars and writing again. I stopped all the crazy efforts to include all my desired features in a single guitar and just worked around it.

True, I play more fluidly and more effortlessly on wider/thicker necks and 24.75" scale lengths, but I am managing.

I got a few really great guitars. They will do for now.

Hope you are all doing well...

Great news Robert. Also of note, my nephew we spoke about, is sounding pretty nice on the acoustic I gave him.
It is a nice Yamaha I got for $30 but it has done a good job with him learning on. He was playing American Pie for me the other day.

Very true....very good point.

I think I will eventually build me a custom Stratocaster with the 24.75" scale, because I like that combination, but not just yet.

I'm really focused on trying to write.

I have tried it and I like it --- as a matter of fact since the low "e" groove on the Epiphone ET290's nut is knackered anyway --- it may be the next new candidate for the "keef" tuning :)

Yah, the smartest thing I ever did was resolve to not change out pickups and hardware any more. Second smartest thing I ever did was go with a simplified all-Boss pedalboard. The tone-chasing takes too much time away from the playing and yields questionable results (at least for me) so no more. Once I talked myself off the ledge I became much happier with my tone.

Most of my guitars are 100% stock I like low output pickups anything over 8k sounds like mud to me. If you don't have a clean tone to start with well that's just me.
pulled out the pinecaster this past weekend it had a bad selector CRL switch replaced it.
