My Secret Pleasure...

I've posted these guys before. This is Le Freak Band out of Texas. They do sort of a rock/disco fusion.

They are actually quite good.


 
There is some good funk guitar in songs like Le Freak, etc, but man I just cant do the disco thing.

I have some bad childhood memories of the adults partying late at night and playing that Donna Summer stuff with that loud in the mix kick drum, and I couldn't sleep.
It links to some bad times in general.
I complained on a few occasions and promptly got a beating from whoever was supposed to be "daddy" at the time.

*shivers*

If for nothing else, maybe it helped me be a better father and husband; didnt kill me so maybe it made me stronger.
 
Disco ---much like anything Motown had some AMAZING bass work........love all that stuff.

My 13 year old son is totally hooked on this song at the moment! I kind of wish he preferred my old J. Geils Band stuff or Freddie King or something, but it's a cool song, and he could have been listening to Kygo...

And it is September, and the weather is really nice. It has been a great couple of weeks here in Bergen. Bergen hosted the UCI cycling world championships last week, the biggest sports event hosted in Norway since the 1994 winter olympics at Lillehammer. The whole town had a blast. For the last race, around 100.000 people crammed into the centre of town (Bergen's total population is about 275.000 at the moment) to watch and take part in the festivities. And that's not counting all the people who were lined up along the roads outside of town. It is a fitting song for how the championships will be remembered here.
