I felt similarly, but was curious enough to try a couple different versions from other manufacturers. Not that I had anything against Fulltone…they were on my shortlist for things to try…but I saw a DryBell Vibe Machine video posted by a member here, and that got bumped to the top of the list. I found one, and added a Mission expression pedal, and I am very happy AND surprised with how much I use it.
That said…I really like the form factor of that Fulltone you posted!

Yes, I could use it if I played live, even so I am pretty happy with the HX Stomp right now. It covers just about any sound.

Even some half-dead players like myself love it, too. Thanks for reminding that I have a Fulltone Deja ‘Vibe waiting to be released once again from its dark dungeon. The Deja Vibe version with the foot control to adjust the speed would be an even cooler pedal to have. Pricey stuff, but Fulltone products are so well made and sound great.

Not surprised by your statement. The DryBells have an excellent reputation. Pricey mofos, too!
Seems like most of the well known offerings are…looks like just under $300, for a good portion, is the going rate. That Fulltone MDV3 goes close to $400 right now…but it has the expression pedal incorporated into the design.
When I added the expression pedal to my Vibe Machine (V2), it was a game changer for me…easy on/off, speed control, and ramp up setting…that’s what made my mind up to stick with it, besides the overall sound.

I'd be curious to see the guts. The reason is that the components used in a Univibe or any faithful clone (not counting digital replicas of course) are strictly prohibited in the EU, yet the pedal is for sale. The 'problem' is that there's cadmium in LDR's and there's practically no other comparable drop-in replacement for it when dealing with visible light. Fender bastardize their EU export amps where required by adding a couple of extra circuit boards just to (poorly) replicate the LDR's behavior for the tremolo, etc. I don't see Fulltone doing that with their pedals.

I have one of the old Deja-Vibe 2 pedals. It's ok. It could have issues as I bought it used.
Then, I bought a Dry Bell Vibe Machine. I like that one, but can't seem to get a sound I like from Humbuckers. It's great with single coils, though. I should have done like Don and bought an expression pedal for it.
Finally settled on the Sabbadius Funky Vibe after Steve turned me on it. I got the '68 version. This one does the early David Gilmour stuff really well.

I have Uni vibes the one I'm using now is the 1969 Funky Vibe it has the same preamp as the original

I was just looking at the tru-fi version. Can't actually recall what they call it but it gets great reviews. There was one on reverb for cheap and I snoozed and losed.

I’ll throw this out there, just in case… Announced yesterday, Aion FX has released their new kit that’s based on the old Univox Uni-Vibe. The kits sold out in the first three hours, but more will be available by mid September. There will be lots of tiny parts to solder, so be prepared for your fingers and hands to cramp up:
