I recently turned 68, and the longer I continue to live, the more occurrences of death of my music heroes I have to deal with.

I'm not even quite 40 and I've seen so many go. In fact, I could probably count the acts and artists on one hand which I appreciate and have a chance of outliving me unless I do something very stupid.
