I'm sitting in my lounge room listening to Coltrane.
Man, he was such an awesome performer. His band was absolutely amazing as well... McCoy Tyner on keys, Elvin Jones on drums and Jimmy Garrison on bass. These guys rocked it.

i feel this deeply.

i remember seeing an interview where Wynton Marsalis, discussing how Louis Armstrong's playing had evolved in his later years,
said something to the effect that, with maturity, everything goes in the direction of nuance as opposed to pyrotechnics.

Since i've never been capable of pyrotechnics in any case, maybe in retrospect that gave me a bit of a head start towards that
eventual goal, LOL.

You and me both. I can’t shred, but I think it’s probably because I found it kinda boring. If it had hit me like the blues did, I might have learned to do it.
