Well, it's happening. Just got the details all sorted out with Nik. I'm getting the complete head minus tubes.

...except mine will will have black control plates with white lettering, black piping and string, black logo and knobs. Like this but with black knobs...

I'm hoping it will make it not so Marshall looking so maybe the little head box won't look so funny. I was going to just get the amp without a headbox, but when I checked the price for a custom head shell it'll cost less to just get his for now, plus it won't stone-hinge a small cab so my 112 cab options open up.

It'll be about 4-6 weeks, maybe a little longer because of the custom control plates. It's gonna be a tough wait!

I'm stoked! My Lil' Devil was a 6v6 plexi with high gain mods. When I tried to take the high gain mods out it all went to :poo: and I'm just not sure what to do with it right now. I've missed it and I'm sure this is going to scratch that itch. What I'm most looking forward to is the PPIMV. I've been told Nik's are the best. I'm looking forward to cranked Plexi tones without needing an attenuator to get it.

I'd bet you're going to like the MV on that amp.
I have the factory MV option on my Ceriatone JTM45.
It works great for cranked amp tone at low volume.

But I've also run the 45 through an attenuator with the MV maxed.
It's a little different tone, and another option since you have the John H.

Is the buffered FX loop standard?
Mine came with the line level loop and I'm glad I installed the upgrade to the buffered loop.

Yes the buffered effects loop is standard. So are all these other things...

The Plexi20 HW circuit is based on ‘68 Plexi preamp, with a 6V6GT fixed bias power section. The circuit is exact same, the only difference being the power tubes, and wattage.

On top of that, we have added many added features often requested as mods to our Plexi amps. This includes
– Post PI Master Volume
– Transparent Buffered Effects Loop
– Bright Switches (on both normal and treble channels!)
– Boost switch
– Fat switch (V2A cathode capacitor)
– Split/Shared V1 Cathode Switch

– 3 way Negative Feedback switch

I don't know what all these things do, but I'm looking forward to finding out. :yesway:

Congratulations! You’re going to love that thing, what tubes are you using? Nik’s buffered loop works fantastic and the PPIMV is the best one I have ever used. I put both on every amp I can from him. If you dime the PPIMV it is out of the chain, I don’t know why it isn’t in all amps, especially without a master volume. I can’t wait to see how you like it!
Edit: I think in some cases that “boost” switch takes the tone stack out when engaged. You will have to check into it but it did in the 2202 I had.
Another thing I thought was, ask Nik if the channels can be jumped. If so, can he just put in an input that makes it a jumped ch input.

Now you’ve done it Steve, I had resisted the impulse to buy the Medallion V.
Congrats and thanks for sharing. I might get one of these in the near future.
I wonder if it could run 5881’s . Mumbling out loud , yes fixed bias assuming there is a trim pot.

Last time I talked to Nik I asked him to look into a 20w SLO type amp, just like mine but small. He said they are very hard to build like that, but he would check it out. That would compliment the Plexi so perfect. Two mini stacks and a Radial amp switcher pedal, mmmmmmmm how sweet it is!
I was looking at the slo clone ( naked) on Rob Robenett’s page. I sort of thought of building one, just for a moment.
