That awkward moment when someone touches on a prohibited subject and you would like to engage or bring this to his attention, but he's the site admin... :rolf:

Hey remember that dial-up/FAX sound.

Ring, Ring,...EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh

You've got Mail!

I used to live in the boonies, the only utilities we had were power and a phone line. Water came from a well on site, and there was no cable. Internet was through an old school modem, so I spent zero time online. That was in the early 2000s, too.

I didn't really get "online" until I went back to school in 2005 and had to. I still didn't really get into it until I discovered these gear forums in 2007 or 2008. The first forum I joined was the SD forum, but I was afraid to post because I thought every one on these forums was a pro and I couldn't believe they let me in. :ROFLMAO:

The first forum I ever joined was the original Telecaster Discussion Page in around '98 or so. Then the PRS forum not too long after that, and I finally found myself on the original Les Paul Forum which became home for a number of years.

DPS World (AKAI DPS24 board)was the first for me….then Reaper, and gearslutz….
A bit later came MLP(that soured me from guitar forums for a bit…)
Then ETSG got me back.

Ah yes, GearSlutz. That was my first real experience with internet prima donnas, though there were a lot of really cool people there as well.

My first taste of just how crazy a forum could get was on the Les Paul Forum when I was a moderator there-on Sept 11, 2001. I was the only mod online that morning, and it was intense.
