Dreams

I keep having these dreams like I'm way out someplace far away (it's never the same place). I finish whatever it is I'm doing there, and when it's time to leave I suddenly realize I have no idea where my car is, and I can't find it. This happens approximately once every 12 to 17 days (+/- 5).

Can anyone here relate to this?

Do any of you have any reoccurring dreams or nightmares?

Note: Leonard, if you bring squirrels or chipmunks into this thread, or post a "Dude, Where's My Car" clip, I will put you on Ignore for 3 hours.

And the interweb says...

"Dreaming about not being able to find your car often symbolizes feelings of confusion, insecurity, and a loss of control in your waking life."

Vertical Scope is entirely to blame for this.
You need to completely abandon all connection to the Evil Empire, and make yourself at home here. :yesway:

... looks like it's pretty much going that way.

Personally I think dreams mean FA. Just the brain clearing out random crap. I think nothing of dreams. Life is about when you are awake.

Nobody really knows why we dream or what the purpose of it is, but it seems to be extremely important. Disruption of the REM phase while sleeping can have serious consequences if repeated often and long enough. Sleep depravation for just a few days can turn people permanently psychotic. Many animals appear to dream, certainly mammals.
Science's best guess right now is that it's actually your brain shifting information (memories) from the short term storage to long term storage, presumably with some kind of discriminator involved. Short term memory is also one of the first things to suffer performance-wise when we lack sleep and REM phases. Why exactly we have these bizarre extrapolated interpretations of our short term memories in the process is anyone's guess. This is why often dreams actually revolve around the occurences since the last REM period, only sometimes bringing in memories from longer ago. My guess is that those more distant memories are likely 'pre-loaded' into the short term memory, conciously or subconsciously before one falls asleep.

I had that recurring dream where I was contacted by my university and told that they had re-evaluated my exams and discovered that one was missing. They said I would have to retake the exam; otherwise, my university degree would no longer be valid.

It doesn’t occur that often anymore, maybe once or twice a year. But what’s interesting is that a lot of my colleagues seem to have that exact dream or variations of it, too.

I occasionally dream that it's the final days of my senior year of high school, suddenly, I discover that I won't pass a class for whatever reason so I can't graduate. That would conclude with a major ass kicking from my old man if it happened in real life. Lol

How about the loose teeth falling out dream, anybody else get that one?

Or finding glass in whatever food you happen to be eating.

Or strangers cutting you up a quarter of an inch at a time starting at your toes while you're performing "self-maintenance"...
