There hasn't been a reveal yet, you didn't miss it. I'm waiting on my wiring harness and now knobs. I'm hoping the switch I ordered comes with a cream tip, if not I still need to get one. I also need a cream jack plate, but that doesn't matter much, and so far I haven't been able to locate the original strap buttons so I may have to get some of those, too.

Here's where it is now, I'm staying with the cream rings.

Hey Steve. I forget where your at on knobs and I remember your not fond of speed knobs. Neither am I. Guess that’s why I have 3 sets in the bin.

Anyhow, you’re welcome to these on the house if they suit. They are cream. The close up is to illustrate the spline. Just a trick of the light that makes it look yellow.

Oh. Did someone say cream tips? How many you want?

I ordered some of those PRS lampshade knobs. I appreciate the offer. :yesway: I'll let you know if I want to try any of those and I'm pretty sure I have a cream tip coming with my switch.

I don’t hate them…I kinda like them, as opposed to top hats. What would matter more to me would be the feel.
I didn’t think I’d like witch hats, but they have a really good feel (to me) on the SG I put them on…so they’re staying.

Yours are a bit darker than I expected, but they’re still not basic black.
Do they feel natural? Do they offer detailed fine control?

When I ordered them I thought they were black and gold, but they are black and amber. I think black and gold would work better.

I haven't gotten that far yet, this was just another mock up. I'm not picky at all about "knob feel" I just care how they look and that's why I don't like speed knobs. These are bigger than I hoped, but not too bad. I was going to wire it up tonight, but I got started too late and now I don't feel like it. I'll get it going tomorrow.

I didn’t think I was either…but I discovered that I don’t really like small, smooth finished, knobs on pots that offer any resistance. I do like something knurley or notchy…even the speed knobs with the rubber band grippy thing. I have a couple of pairs of the latter on a couple of basses…and I like them very much, but don’t trust in their longevity.

I guess my favorite knobs "if I had to choose" are the metal dome knobs. I had them on this guitar when it was natural finish and I had my bullet casing in it, but I don't think they look right now, but maybe would, I don't know. Right now I'm sort of wishing I'd kept this...

It's done! ...at least I'm calling it done. It's not perfect, but I don't care, it looks a hell of a lot better than it did as far as I'm concerned and that's all I wanted. I may change the knobs, but I don't hate these. It's all wired up with JWP Darkburst/Godwood set, RS Guitarworks Vintage harness and she sounds awesome!

I can deal with the feel. Do you mean the ones I linked? I thought the PRS knobs were going to be black and gold so I still have that in my head. I actually like the PRS knobs better than any of the other ones I have. The gold top hats are my least favorite. lol
