LP Tribute refinish, take 2...

I have no real opinion on the rings or knobs. I like color, I missed the reveal.

There hasn't been a reveal yet, you didn't miss it. I'm waiting on my wiring harness and now knobs. I'm hoping the switch I ordered comes with a cream tip, if not I still need to get one. I also need a cream jack plate, but that doesn't matter much, and so far I haven't been able to locate the original strap buttons so I may have to get some of those, too.

Here's where it is now, I'm staying with the cream rings.

It looks great but I’m sticking to my opinion, which means double zero but black ring and gold knobs, unless you would consider chrome domes.
But again it looks fantastic!!

I ordered some of those PRS lampshade knobs. I appreciate the offer. I'll let you know if I want to try any of those and I'm pretty sure I have a cream tip coming with my switch.

I don't know about these knobs though, they're pretty dark, much darker than the site photos. What you y'all think?

I don’t hate them…I kinda like them, as opposed to top hats. What would matter more to me would be the feel.
I didn’t think I’d like witch hats, but they have a really good feel (to me) on the SG I put them on…so they’re staying.

Yours are a bit darker than I expected, but they’re still not basic black.
Do they feel natural? Do they offer detailed fine control?

When I ordered them I thought they were black and gold, but they are black and amber. I think black and gold would work better.

I haven't gotten that far yet, this was just another mock up. I'm not picky at all about "knob feel" I just care how they look and that's why I don't like speed knobs. These are bigger than I hoped, but not too bad. I was going to wire it up tonight, but I got started too late and now I don't feel like it. I'll get it going tomorrow.

I didn’t think I was either…but I discovered that I don’t really like small, smooth finished, knobs on pots that offer any resistance. I do like something knurley or notchy…even the speed knobs with the rubber band grippy thing. I have a couple of pairs of the latter on a couple of basses…and I like them very much, but don’t trust in their longevity.

Well...you were there when it happened and I first started showing my true colors. lol! I'm shocked to see both of the GR amps in that pic. I thought those came much later.
