The Random Thought Thread

It occurred to me, today, that rather than creating a new thread about every random thought (I have, or random thoughts running through your heads), we need a thread dedicated to post about our random thoughts and avoid hogging the Closet.

Driving down the road today on my way to the gas station this morning, all of sudden, without warning, I was hit with the remembrance of the band Big Star.

Hence the random thoughts we all experience daily, consciously, or unconsciously, and we accept it without requiring explanations as to the why and how it is that random thoughts invade our minds everyday. Resist the urge to go all out Sigmund Freud on us.

It dawned on me tonight that as I was driving to the gas station earler this morning, I had driven by and happened to glance at my local Tru Value Hardware store..."Star Hardware" lookng af the big star insignia on the front of the building may have triggered my remembrance of the band Big Star.

Very cool observation! R. Buckminster Fuller kept notes of that kind of mental behavior, and eventually published them as Notebooks. It’s fascinating stuff, watching him document how he winds his way through corridors of memory to retrieve a long-forgotten name.

If I were to take one lasagna, and then stack it directly on top of another lasagna, do I now have 2 lasagnas?

NO!

I still only have one lasagna, but it's taller and more powerful.
