Just for shits and grins I did a quick mock up. I think it's going to probably look better with cream plastics.

Gold knobs

Amber knobs

Well, folks...I'm calling it done! Not only am I tired of messing with it, I ran out of tru-oil, lol. Besides, I don't think it's going to get much shinier than it is now unless I wet sand it and buff it from here, but I don't think I'm going to. I like the way it looks 100% better than it was before and that's more than I could hope for. I'm happy!

I'll do another mock up with the cream mounting rings. I just got them in the mail today. I have a feeling cream is going to look better.

Yeah, I don't like reflector knobs unless it has a pick guard because then it matches that retro look. ...and you know how I feel about pick guards on a Les Paul.

If you're shying away from the retro look, have you considered speed knobs?
I've never found a good looking cream top hat, but I have some cream speed knobs that might look killer with those rings and zebras.
Had them on the wine red for a while.

I'm looking at other options now. To be honest, I'm not really happy with any of those knobs, they're just all I have on hand right now. I'm not really a fan of speed knobs, but there are many more options available with them.

B is in the lead on 2 forums. It's also my choice. I'm just not liking any of the knobs. I'm looking for something else.
