OK, i'm here!

eMC/unsquare jazz radio presents
After Dark ep. 2 - 'Why Did It Have To Be You?'

a set of jazz standards.
All Blues / Joy Spring / It Had To Be You / It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) / As Time Goes By / I'm In The Mood For Love / If I Should Lose You / East Of The Sun (And West Of The Moon) / Garota De Ipanema / Insensatez / This I Dig Of You

All played in my usual idiosyncratic fashion, ofc.

i found myself thinking about this tune, and then i had to play it (with mr sunnybass, ofc).
I Want To Talk About You

NGL, it felt a little strange to be playing guitar again, especially comping a standard.
i've been focusing so much on my bass playing lately, i have to apologise
for the roughness of it (like zero prep work), but it sure was fun to do.

Having another go at this month's deep dive standard:
Rhythm-A-Ning (v3)

... now with B section played closer to 'as written' (still need to find an actual lead sheet) ... and
i dropped my pick towards the end of the solo, so the octaves bit and everything after that until
the end was played with fingers only.

This month's standard tune deep dive is going to be on this one:
A Night In Tunisia (v2)

... and this little unassuming ES-140T is fast becoming my favourite guitar to play straight ahead stuff on!
What do you guys think of the sound of it?
That’s a very nice guitar. My son had a friend that let him use an older es , I forget what one but it had a full size body, same pickup.
That pickup was velvet and versatile.
The guitar looks pricey . Sounds good .
