Checked the gasoline prices around Lake Arrow Head California this morning, seems California has the highest gasoline prices. If Don O is filling up today prices look to be $5.75-$5.99 per U.S. gallon.

I converted the price here where i live which is in C.D.N. litres is $178.6 over to a U.S. gallon price. My price here today is $6.76. U.S.

If i convert $178.6 Litres into an imperial gallon which is what we used to measure, before we went to the metric system. The imperial gallon is a bit larger than a U.S gallon . My price today would be if it were Imperial gallon at $178.6 would be $8.12 gallon

Gas prices are crazy aren't they. Not trying to make political just comparing the costs.

Yep, we are around $5.99/gal here on the mountain. Had to pick the wife up at LAX on Tuesday and saw one station had diesel at $8/gal. On the news the other day some station in northern CA was charging $9.99/gal. When asked about the price the owner said he couldn’t charge more because the pump was limited to $X.YY price. No way to get to $10 or above. Ouch.

Here in the North Bay is among the highest in the nation. Fortunately, I’m retired and drive an old Civic that sips gas when I do drive, and Lisa has a five minute drive downtown twice a week.

Can someone explain to me why gasoline is different prices in different parts of the country? It should be the same price everywhere, unless you’re deliberately gouging the more affluent places.

Personally I think that's what they do. In the city here it is 1.75 per litre. In a town 40 miles away, 1.72. Not much diff but a difference nonetheless. I understand on Vancouver Island where everything is shipped across the mainland it is more but it varies greatly across the country.

I think some of it is reflective of the different local gasoline taxes.

Yesterday I was out and about. Think I saw from low $4 to mid $4 range. Fortunately, both being retired we don't drive as much anymore. I'm filling the Honda about every other month, which equates to around 400 miles... in two months.

Ps. 37 and I provided a reasonable explanation
Taxes for sure. Tanker can stop at a gas station on the Illinois side of the border. Drive 10 miles to a station on the WI side of the border. Those two stations will differ in price by at least 10 cents a gallon or more. With WI being the less expensive.
