Since getting serious about mixing & mastering. Put a lot of time the last few months into selecting guitars for covering just about anything tone wise. It was all based on pick ups & tonal quality of a guitars final ball park tone. Eliminated some good gear even to spread the range out. Probably having a SL 100 with 3 options on circuit SL-R/T-Super Bass has opened up so much ease of recording. Then JCM 800 2204 right over & through it all at will. Not much EQ work to do, they just record..well like every album we all grew up on sorta.

So, not my fav here, but a 50's range Tele has a sound ! painstakingly compared this to the Dragon, some Mim's & even USA. Ended up liking a pine body, with lower output pickups. It sounds so good. Was listening to Zep 1 & 2 over weekend, the tele is all over it.

It is flawless, even set up right with signed tag from factory. Only 1 thing i have to do, barely , just barely know off the hige E side fret ends a tad. 1 or 2 taps with a file with do it,

Looking forward to The Casino, 70's V & this in some new recording coming up. Good guitar !

Very nice. And honestly, I feel Fender has been nailing the quality and features across the board lately. Every Fender I pick up no matter which line seems to be immaculate and play great these days.
Thanks man, That is great to hear. In general, can't remember the last time i got a bad guitar. Actually enjoy the set up process if all the basics are good to go,

Got it under the mic already. Recorded the Casino the other day into SL100. All the rhythm is tracked with it. Just laid the bass down with the Jazz. and vocals. Then, said why not. Put the yelly tele right down the middle. Some accent parts & some heavy lifting over the Casino.
next the V is going on to wrap the song up with leads. Each of these new guitars have really inspired, gone in the mix as researched & made songs pop out pretty naturally.

Will say this, think just bumped into a new sonic territory. More laid back but still rock with the good ol outbursts. But am noticing. The Casino & tele invite in some subtle nuance playing. Which leads to more interesting parts to sing over verse crunch crunch all the time. having fun.
