No disrespect intended to @TVvoodoo , but I got an email today that had these (new to me) Grover straplocks.

This one is for @SG John

And this one is for @Headache

And…..I dunno….who wants to be a star?

Looks like $11 - $15 American at the usual suppliers.
Kinda neat imo…hollowed out and threaded strap pin, with a screw on decorative retaining button…rubber O-ring inset washer for friction retention of the retaining button.

Now, my current favorite retaining mechanisms are Brad’s “old school straplocks”, but I don’t have enough for all of my guitars, and I’m not sure if I like them “best” for certain strap button positions…I absolutely love them on all of my neck heel strap button mounted guitars…but not as sure about some of my Strat-ish shaped guitars and basses. These Grovers may be a bit less to look at when they’re on the stands.

I like that they made several types. But is this like tge Gretsch screw in pins?
A little different. They have a semi-regular looking strap pin that screws into the guitar. That strap pin has threads in the tube that you drive the screw into the body through. The screw head sits deep in the pin(like the Schallers)…put the strap on the strap pin, and screw the retaining button into the center of the pin (chasing the screw toward the body). So the strap pin is a nut, and the button has a bolt on the backside(and, I believe, a rubber O-ring washer to make it a bit less prone to working its way out accidentally).
Unscrew the button, to remove the strap from the pin, when you’re done.

Nothing wrong with Trem, it was more expensive than half my guitars. lol
Good product though.

I can see where it helps to have some shape to the button head, gives you a little more more torque.
Agreed. The pin should hold the strap nose/tail, and the button head just blocks the exit a bit..
Those look like a fun useless thing to buy.
I saw the iron cross, and thought that it would look fantastic holding an “Ace of Spades” strap in place.
