1980 I was at band stand east a guy sold a 1958 Les Paul Standard they gave him $ 400.00 cash for it
I asked to check it out it rang like a bell unplugged I offered $1000.00 for it they would not take a check for it
I went cross town to my Grandfathers shop got the cash I returned they wouldn't sell it to me I said a deal is a deal
Oh well the guitar was red stock found out years later only 3 1958 LPS were red
I was at guitar center down town Seattle just after 9-11 I was the only customer in the store they had over 20 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul
Standards in stock some were high priced they had a Marshall JTM-45 with a 4 x 12 cabinet I played then all
after playing the guitars for 6 hours I found 3 asked what kind of a cash deal we could make the red one 5A top had some dings in it
but it played well list was $5700.00 they took $2000.00 no tax wrong case I said the store looks dead I was the only buying customer
that week.
Last year scored a PRS 245 10 top quilt best neck profile of any guitar I have played but the controls are set up like a Les Paul
I have a PRS McCarthy 594 sounds great with coil split push pull treble pots
I ordered the 594 wiring harness and my favorite PRS vintage neck pickups that I can coil split should be done soon
it's red also got it used mint $1700.00 free shipping no tax guitar center wanted $5800.00 plus shipping and tax no 10 top.
