OK, AI

There was a recent thread about how to set up one’s gear for sounding like something and AI went into a long list of settings.
Well here I was trying to play an easy version of of Purple Rain. But, for me, it’s the kind of song that needs the sound. So, I plug in my Walrus Julia, but since I don’t use pedals, not quite sure how to set it up, well ok I try Google, and it gives me the Google AI answer . That brought me pretty close. Without mentioning any other gear. .
As for playing the song, got a bit of finger cramping there , some hard to reach chord, needs work.
Also almost got electrocuted, damn basement , it’s a dry winter, with the carpet in the basement I keep getting shocks!

If I never get another static shock it will be too soon.
We have a whole house humidifier built into the furnace. It's isn't perfect. By the middle of winter the air does get dry enough for an occasional static shock. Or when pulling a sweater or sweatshirt over you head after wearing it all day, one can hear some snapping. But the humidifier does help keep the air from going completely desert dry.

Yeah , I went form oil furnace to electric furnace, it’s definitely fryer. Had to put my Larrivee acoustic in its case with humidipac.
I could install a “whole house” humidifier in the system. I should look into them . My understanding is they are so so and require a lot of maintenance, but I need to check

We had an AprilAire whole house humidifier in the house before this one (in Indiana), and it worked great and required zero major maintenance. It was plumbed with a water supply, so it wanted nothing from me. This house (in California) doesn’t really need one… it gets a little dry in the summer, but other than that, the humidity is pretty even.

Change the filter every year or 2. We have an air exchange for winter when it gets too humid indoors due to cold outdoors. Air flow reduces moisture on windows. I think it is almost essential if you have a humidifier in very cold conditions.
Ours is very low maintainence other than that.

Zero maintenance beyond changing the water pad (filter). Couple times a winter. Pad gets pretty gunked up on ours. Water line plumbed to it with a shut off so I can turn the water off in the summer. No moving parts on ours.

We have a forced air furnace system. And once it gets real cold and furnace runs a lot, air does get less humid…. But it’s WAY better than not having it.
