People Who Are On Their Cell Phones Constantly

Need to get a life. It seems everywhere I go, to a restaurant, driving, sitting waiting for the Doctor, shopping at the grocery store, at the mall. Wherever I am someone is on there cell phone. I go to the restaurant there are family's glued to these devices, no body talks to each other.

I get into my vehicle, within a short time I have a woman or some guy on a cell phone texting , not paying attention to what's going on, tail gating me. this is an irritant.

You go into a Drs office and someone is talking to whomever about nothing that is serious, and you have to listen to the conversation. Kids and adults walking as they are talking on a cell phone or texting.

I have one for emergency's and to call for appts etc, but I'm not married to the thing. I don't spend 24 hrs a day glued to this thing, it doesn't control me , I control it.

I am not one to stay on the phone for long periods of time, to make conversation. I prefer to talk with people face to face. I find life was a much easier pace years ago, before the cell phone came into play, we all managed our lives, back then without any difficulties.

Do you feel the same way? or maybe I'm just old.

I totally agree!.!

I will say. Via texting, I’m in contact with my boys, many times daily. Same with people I’ve been friends with for well over 50 years. I like that feature of the cell phone.

I’d say the majority of my TTR posts are done from my phone. And if I need to do some quick google research on how to screw in a light bulb. It’s way quicker to do it from my phone than to fire up the lap top.

And boy does it help with that trip to the store. Don’t use a paper list any more. Use the phone. Use it to take photos of some items so as to get mama the correct bag of “special” coffee.

I use my device as a ‘phone’ so rarely that when it rings, I look about the room wondering where the noise is coming from.
Unless I’m expecting a call. My ringer is shut off. Have my phone set up so if the caller isn’t in my contacts list, it goes direct to voice mail. Figure if it’s important they will leave voice mail. They never do.

Lastly. I use my phone as a juke box and radio. Have around a 1000 songs loaded on it and since we have satellite radio in our cars, I also have the app on my phone. More often than not.... I've got the app tuned to either Margaritaville Radio or Classic Vinyl. Which is what its doing as I type. It may not be hi-fidelity, but then I don't have the volume cranked. Just enough to be able to hear.

Oh yeah. Recipes. I have my phone linked with the laptop (sorta). If all I need is list of ingredients, I can pull that up on the phone. If I need detailed instructions, then the laptop is the best way to do that.

And photos. Lots of photos. 2600 and counting. Family. Vacations. Funny stuff.... some of which I share here.
