Whats Your Song Of The Day.

gball, when you posted the Jesus and Mary Chains song, my first thoughts went to this band.
Somehow that lead singer chick's voice is like no other that I have ever heard. It just grabs me in a particular way that is different than someone like Grace Slick, Mama Cass, Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks etc.

Y'know, that particular J+MC song is sung by no other than Hope Sandoval, from Mazzy Star. She is one of my favorite singers and has done a lot of cool stuff over the years. Another of my favorite collabs she has done:

Nice voice Chilli ! Reminded me of another really nice female singer I ran across a few months ago. Our band decided to cover MTB’s Can’t You See. I found this YT video and went holy crap. She has the perfect voice for this song, plays great flute lines and the guy is just a perfect time keeping machine. Oh, and he does backup vocals and after the intro, his left foot is keeping perfect kick drum time (1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4…) for the entire song!
I tried to do my left foot keeping time while listening and just couldn’t keep up, yet he’s doing it while playing and singing.

IMHO this is the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. I now listen to it at least once a week.

DonO, she is quite the flutist the 2 of them do a good job with the MTB song. As I listened to her singing, it finally hit me at abut 3:15 that she would do a great job covering Janis Joplin songs too.

Also had this ear worm going the past few days.

Sounded Punk to me and according to wiki, I was on target

The Nervous Eaters, one of Boston's first punk rock / rock and roll bands with Steve Cataldo on vocals and guitar, Robb Skeen on bass, and Jeff Wilkinson on drums. Forming in 1973 they had used the name some years earlier, but had not performed live under it. As the Rhythm Azzholes, they had backed local rock legend Willie Alexander on his single "Kerouac" ...

My first intro to Deftones was the Rolling Rock Town Fair 2001 when they played there. The day was so hot and the DT's were even hotter.

Shut up and Drive, My Own Summer, were where I popped my cherry, but the entire Around the Fur album is a serious monster on every track
Another sick jam is Mascara. RIP CHI CHENG

The Lazy Cowgirls do a great cover of that song. Saw them years ago at a rock dive (T. T. The Bear's) in Cambridge. I'm actually FB friends with the singer, Pat Todd. His band The Rank Outsiders is every bit of great as the Lazy Cowgirls were.
