What are you guys using for drum software?

I use the Native Instruments drums… Vintage, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, Modern and Studio Drummer, the Abbey Road series. They sound really good, the built-in grooves are highly usable, and they run under Kontakt.

I've been using BFD for some years. Not only does it sound more like 'real' drums in a world-class studio than any other system I've heard, it allows you to make all sorts of adjustments you'd be able to do in the real world, such as change the apparent distance of mics from the drums. Also, the multi-layered samples mean there is a genuine difference in tone as you strike a different part of the drum head, as well as how hard.

Perhaps the strongest part of BFD is the ability to write and edit your own parts within the program, because it gives you the flexibility to, for instance, choke cymbals as a real drummer would. However, to get past the pre-made drum patterns (which are very good) to creating your own, is quite a learning curve.

Po' boy here using mostly MT Drum kit... free VST drum samples, midi triggered.
I want to say making proper drum tracks has been my weakness, but I have so many other weaknesses too.
My biggest problem other than minimal musical skill/talent is my aversion to detailed tweaking, adding/inventing fills, etc. Short attention span...I think some hearing loss is also hurting my overall mix/eq sensibilities.
You do better than me, you described my situation. My hearing is not great.
I have to many ideas that I endlessly tweak and in the end trash the whole thing and start over.

As far as drums go, I have MT drums , addictive drums, I just loaded BFD and can not get it to connect to licensing thingy.
My main source is ez drummer.
One thing about ez drummer , get 3 and don’t look back.

My favourite software is still Hydrogen. It works nicely with the middleware Jack and can work together with all the DAW softwares like ardour or qtractor. Which are not Linux-only but more or less system independent.
Very good,I like hydrogen drum.
