Some of you guys have guided me faithfully over the years with incredible wisdom and experience. Much appreciated, when i can take my amp to the tech and explain it in his lingo !

My question. Going in for the kill on keeper amps. PPIMV on 4 holers

I had Lar mar & trainwreck 3 and by far the train wreck 3 kept the tone exactly as with it out of circuit but just brought volume down but increased crunch but not losing kerrang it seemed. lil compression but not 800 like.. Which is exactly what i wanted in my old amp.

1) Why did i favor the Trainwreck 3 over lar mar ? Kindly explain in "players' terms what the dif is on those 2.

2) Going to have my amp done with a PPIMV, how can i get another gain stage (don't need much but want a lil more snarl on tap in the circuit with out slamming front end) this is not absolutely neccessarry but while it going to tech it will probably save me buying another amp.

3) Is there a simple switch that can be added like on Ceriatone amps to get a darker AIC Facelift & Dirt character ?

Thank you kindly in advance !

oh , <My amp, el34 Stew Mac Brit Plex but completely re wired correctly by the tech. Sounds great but i need some natural circuit aggression before pedals.

I don't know what a Trainwreck 3 is clue me in I still have 3 Trainwreck Express amps and two Trainwreck Rocket amps
they only like 25 watt Green back speakers the last time I used a Trainwreck amp on stage was 2007 one Rocket and a Express for leads with channel switching
2008 I started using Dumble ODS amps that gave me clean channel a pre amp channel and a overdrive channel

Hopefully that is the correct picture
The one i had, the MV was out of circuit when turned to the right the whole way

How much?
Too much lol. That is a Mike Audette built R/T amp. But i am meeting the guy and turns out i know him from gear trades over the years. He started a mod shop so we gonna start mods on my 4 holer next week.
PPIMV and maybe a switch of some sort to color for starters then figure out about gain ad & get this thing int the zone. It sounds great right now pedaled up but looking for the amp to be nastier quicker & use pedals to tweak boost vs so much gain coming in the front end with pedals.
The MV absolutely will be out of the circuit when turned to the right. Must retain full stock sound for the natural sounds

You might want to contact David Szabados at Legendary Tones and see if a Mr. Scary hot mod will work on your amp. I recommend the Mr. Scary because it has a gain knob so you can control the amount of gain added. It's an easy and completely non-invasive way to add an extra gain stage. They work great, I had one when I had my SC20, but it only works in certain amps, like a JCM or a Plexi.

Great suggestion. def like the results have heard with the Scary !

Starting of with Ken Fisher Trainwreck style 3 PPIMV with the new tech next week. Going to mess with that way for a bit then work on some NFB and tone stack ideas. Basically anything can be done now i met a tech finally. Very fortunate yesterday to look on FB & found a tech 5 miles from me I already knew.
