So the other day I updated the drivers on my HP laptop and it killed my audio driver so now I have no sound for listening to music and vids. I'll get back to that later.
Here's what I'm concerned with right now...
I have another (cheap) laptop that I bought a couple of years ago as a backup and I'm having to use it now. It has an MSN browser and Microsoft won't let me download another browser. I tried to download Firefox and then Brave and it blocked them both. It also won't let me download duckduckgo, which I use on my real laptop and would like to use it.
It said that to use a different browser I have to switch out of S mode, or maybe it said switch to S mode, I don't recall, but whichever it is it warned me not to do that. (I thought I took a screenshot, but apparently I didn't) I'm thinking it just doesn't want me to do it. What difference does it make? I'd really like to load a browser I'm familiar with.
It's windows11.

So it's not going to hurt anything? The popup message made it sound like I would ruin my computer if I switch out of S mode. That's all I really need to know I guess...for now.
The problem is, when I did that, hp support doesn't have my computer listed as an option after I search the model. It's also not in the list of "no longer supported models". It gives me no other option, it's just a dead end.

. Don’t ask me how I know… ARGH!!
