Crazy!
Tariffs have increased prices quite a bit, in areas from food, clothing, pretty much everything. Majority of people know why. Its not hard to figure out. Last year i paid $28 CDN for a gallon of Morgan Cool Power for R/C Aircraft, this year $50, so i bought what my friend who owns the hobby shop, what he had at that time which was 4 gallons. He told me he didn't like charging me that amount, but due to the tariffs he had no choice.

They just got a shipment in, he can only now buy it in quarts, price $25. $100 a gallon for next year, i have been keeping my empty gallon jugs.

Cool power is a mix of Nitro, methanol, ethanol and synthetic oil. I use 10% Nitro as a rule, but sometimes 15%, of course the higher the nitro , the higher the cost. So i am staying with nitro content 10%.

That’s for sure
We were making nitrotoluene as a derivative of toluene in college, a couple of other guys were doing the same reaction but were heating way too much, which could lead to trinitrotoluene, I.e.: TNT, the professor freaked out
Took chemistry in HS. Our teacher told us about a college kid that was screwing around in chemistry and was making nitro glycerine. Guess he was doing just fine till he got interrupted. Had to walk away. Glycerine seperated out and went one way. Nitric acid seperated and went the other. What was in the middle was…. Shall we say…. A bit unstable. Blew up the lab.

I have no doubt given the chance, I would have been that kid.

In grad school we made a shock sensitive explosive, just small amount, filtered it and smeared the filtered paper on the floor where Tony worked . So the next day, after the stuff dried and he walked on it, it would kind of “crinkle”. But we heard that at another university in town someone made a big batch of the stuff and lost a hand. You have to be careful

I didn’t do the 4 year college deal. I did eventually get an AA doing classes in the evening as an adult, married with kids. But did not repeat chemistry. Did physics in college. Pretty sure if I’d done chemistry again, I’d have done something stupid.

You don’t actually need to “do” anything stupid. Accidents find you and the novelty wears off pretty fast

All to do with you know who.
