1956 Gibson --nice

I owned a '57 Special for a while in the mid '80's. TV Yellow.
It was a cool guitar but in no way better than what Gibson is putting out today.

JUST CURIOUS---
IS it possible to watch a video of a nice guitar and appreciate it for what it is ??

YES everything is designed better now----HELL a 57 Chevy SUCKS compared to a 2017 toyota camry ---in "real world functionality"
crap mileage
Crap carburetion (Camry is ELECTRONICALLY FUEL INJECTED)
POINTS??? who adjusts THOSE anymore--- do they even exist???
CHOKE???? WTF do you "choke"?
crap suspension
Crap tires
HORRIBLE brakes
crap a/c
crap features
Crap headlights
no bluetooth
no sat nav
no roadside asssitance
no airbags
no 100,000 mile warranty

BUT if I win the lottery (or just wanna sit around and think about winning it) ---I am going to buy a 57 Chevy --- NOT a Camry

Oh === I digress

GIBSON SUCKS AND QUALITY CONTROL IS ARCHAIC and they should all burn --except the ones the "F" up and get right--- those play LOVELY

I don't like old cars either, but I get what you are saying. Thing is, there is this unsubstantiated notion that's been floating around guitardom for many years that seems to state that everything '50's and a few things '60's are the standard and nothing else lives up to it, so when I see folks pining on about these old guitars as though they are untouchable I get a bit prickly. I've played them, I've owned them, I've seen and heard them. There are good ones and bad just like any era, and in general the guitars being made now are more consistent and easier to live with so the myths of "old wood" and the magic craftsmen of 1950's Kalamazoo bug me.

'57 Chevys had AC?
They had AC Delco electrical components.
