Who needs speakers..?

I have two Celestion G12 25 watts/8 ohm minty speakers. Excellent condition. They came out of a minty Vox 2x12 cab. In which I installed two Blues.

For yous guys n gals 75$ each plus 30$ shipping (for one). Shipping for two will be more.

The cab was ‘used’ but shows no wear at all. Same with the speakers. These were well kept. The cab has no dings nor scratches. Looks like it was never giged.

I was going to ask in a pm where you are located but I rarely use amplified guitar now.
The room makes me question even the best speakers.
This is a great opportunity.

Same here.. those are one of my favorite speakers, but I only use impulse responses now.

Great price for anyone looking for loudspeakers !

Lookie what came early!

I was already doing some finishing touches with Tolex scraps on the back panels.
Also got the new piping, taller feet, and some other misc. stuff from T&M.
Here's the stretched G15RCD with the power socket installed.

Went ahead and made center panels to have convertible closed backs.

And with the Lead12 - I filled in the extension jack hole from the previous owner.
I don't think I'm going to bother hooking these up to bigger cabs, I got bigger amps for that...

Stacked back up in the office with the new 8Ω greenbacks. :yesway:
They sound fantastic with the amps pushed into native overdrive, or with some dirt from the G3n.

Hey, nice. Aren’t offices for work. lol

That’s awesome. Glad it worked out.
Thanks again.
Yesterday I pulled the center back panels off for some open back experimentation.
I think I may like this better than the closed back configuration.

It opens up the sound in my little bedroom office, but they do loose some forward projection.
I may experiment further with some port holes in those removable panels.

Do you think that has to do with the size of the cabs? I recently discovered that it I took the center part out to make it a semi open back it took the fizzies out of the highs. I don't have that problem with my EVH 212 using it as a 112. I'm realizing for a 112 cab, I need the biggest oversized cab I can find and right now it's my 212 with only one speaker hooked up.

I definitely think cab size affects how the speaker behaves.
I'm no expert in audio engineering, and what I've been told is guitar speakers usually overpower a lot of that hi-fi audio mumbo-jumbo.
In my semi-educated opinion, small cabs sound small, and big cabs sound big.
What speaker, and how you use it, are also a factor.
And then there's the cab material (particle board / MDF / plywood) can-o-worms.

Porting can selectively increase lower frequency response.
The port size, tube length, and cab volume determine what frequencies are enhanced by the port(s).
I gotta find one of those online calculators that figure that stuff out again.
