I wasn't sure about the color earlier when I saw, but looking at it again I think it's not the color, it's the cream plastics that were throwing me off. I think I'd be putting black pickup rings on it and lose the poker chip, but that's me.

Yes, black would look better I think. I don't know why they didn't just use regular cream color. If the plastic will take a Sharpie I may just Sharpie them black.
