I remember tickets in the $15 range.
Ozzy Ozbourne Blizzard was about $25 for 4th in Long Beach.
What would you pay today ?
Yesterday I bought tickets to a show 900 miles away. So we decided not to drive. I would drive it. It’s about 15 hours roughly or slightly less.
So now, it’s a flight , a hotel and a car.
Sounds like bad idea now.

They're all miming, playing to backing tracks, and lip-syncing now anyways.

Can't see paying for that.

Who are you going to see Motly Crew?
There are still people who play.
I would be pissed if that happened.
This guy plays.

There's a guy who does very detailed research on this topic, using waveform analysis from multiple live performances of everyone from Taylor Swift to ZZ Top..

You’re talking about Fil with Wings of Pegasus, right?

Fascinating channel.

What would I be willing to pay for a concert ticket? I’d be willing to do about $100.00 per ticket. In today’s world, that does limit how many shows I could see.

Yes. I couldn't remember the channel, but that's it !

He proves almost all the big name acts today are miming, using backing tracks, and lip syncing in their live performances.

For the record. Even The Who back in the 70s used backing tracks when playing live. Specifically on "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again." That was documented by the man himself (Townshend) on a Making The Album piece I watched years ago. It was the only way to bring the studio sound of the Synths and keyboards on stage with them live. Now...... that said..... obviously the singing, guitars and drums were absolutely done live.

I won't get fooled again.

I spent almost $100 to see Gypsy Kings, 1 ticket.
I think they hosed me $15 for parking.
If it's a band I like a lot I'll spend the money to see it.
Jeff Beck was $70, one ticket.

But no, I don't go to see "pre recorded" lip sync concerts.
As in: Keith Urban pretend concert BS.
Only the real thing. I detest that pre recorded BS.

I watch the guitarist, musicians are not that good at acting.
I guess music fans have died.
We did see Styx, Tommy was not faking it.
