UFO / Music / Non Alien ...lol

I just found the UFO channel on YouTube last night.

I'm guessing Reservoir Media Management, Inc. is the entity that bought UFO's catalog and did these remasters ?

I don’t know, I have the album. I have not played it much. The live stuff before Strangers is great.

I have all the UFO stuff with Schenker on cassette tape.

Wasn't really into them prior to, or after Schenker.

Always got a kick out of the story how Michael joined UFO.. they played a gig with Scorpions. PA (or guitar amps) blew, so UFO asked to borrow amps from Scorps.. They said "OK, but our guitar player is going to go also to keep an eye on our gear.. make sure it comes back."

The gear went back, but Schenker stayed with UFO. :ROFLMAO:

Priceless

Not sure if it's true, but it's a great story.

I've read wildly different versions over the years. His brother stated that Scorpions were "glad to let him go to another band because now he was someone else's problem."

:ROFLMAO:
That’s probably true , that being said, I bet he is easier to get along with EVH would have been.

I have one of the Van Halen bootleg CDs entitled, "Eatin' Schenkers For Breakfast".

It was recorded May 9, 1976 when a then unknown Van Halen opened for UFO at the Golden West ballroom in Norwalk, Ca.

He had his work cut out for him.First album was definitely a barn burner.
I still like UFO style quite a lot. Edward was arrogant, great player.
That was kind of the point where there was a changing of the guard, I just never jumped on that bandwagon.lol

Schenker has got to be one of my favorite players as far as note choice & style.

I think Obsession with UFO is his best work, by far.

His tone on that record is a benchmark of rock guitar tones.

I have heard people say that about that album, I will have to focus on listening to that again. I like the Leo Lyons production on the early recordings from the Chrysalis years.
His tone changed when he left UFO, in part due to the split channel 2205 Marshall.
I think I shelved that record long ago because I didn’t like the direction they going in musically.
