I was in pain for more gain...
So I ordered up a Mesa Rectoverb 25.

Picked it up at FedEx this morning.
Now my needs have been met.

It was a hard decision between the Rectoverb 25 and the Mark V 35, but the Recto won out.
I'm not at all unhappy with my decision. This thing is unreal.
12" speaker and weighing in at 41 pounds, it's still quite portable.
Two amp switchable and foot switchable channels with two modes on each channel.
Also has a 10 watt & 25 watt power switch.
Goes from clean to face melting overdrive with sustain up the wahoo.

Why the Recto over the Mark?
Easier to dial in, fewer knobs & switches to deal with, and most of all, more gain...
Quite a lot of performance in a small package.

It also looks quite nice next to it's F 30 cousin.

Nice!! I have wanted one for a while, and a Mesa in general. How does it differ from the other Mesa?

Thanks Ray, the gain is over the top.
Unpotted pickups squeal like a pig on the high gain channel.
But humbuckers bring home the tone.
It's a Santana kind of singing sustain. Kind of hard to describe.
Need to spend some more time with it to really find the nuances within.
But it seems like it's going to be a pleasant journey of discovery.

You MUST play this thing Kevin.
Even if I have to bring it over to your place.

Wow nice amp.Bet its a beast
Small package, huge singing voice.
The 10 watt setting really shines with the "modern" voicing.
Even the wife liked the tone that was coming out if it.
But I WAS using a PRS with Lollars...

Congrats Hack...

I've never owned a Mesa... I actually just realized, that I've never even have played thru one! Yet I like them. Built like tanks, and sound like ten of them... :dood:. I've heard them numerous times, either live at a concert, or thru video demos... always impressive with a good guitar player and decent sound mix. That goes for any of the Mesa's. Personally, I lust for either a vintage Mk IIC, or the newer Mesa/John Petrucci signature amp... the JP-2C.

I've never owned one either although the Yamaha has an average sounding pretend version, but played a tele through one in Bkk recently (I'm pretty sure it was the same one as above), and it sounded great, really great - and that was just clean!

One day, when I'm at my own place not working around the world is silly little apartments, a Messa will be mine!

I hope to end up with 10 million dollars Emma Stone --- and Zoey DeSchanel ----but you have fun with the amp ;)

I hope you end up with all the above.
And I shall do so. Wife left for a while today & I let her rip.
Sustain blossoms into controlled feedback at will.
Gonna have a ball with this little beast.
