What are you playing today

Please, put some oil on that fret board!

It's oiled. Maybe it's just catching a light reflection or something?

Here's a different picture

Wait a minute gball, when did you get a Burst SSS Strat? I was just watching a few youtube clips yesterday and the guy was playing a HH Tele like the ones you got a few months ago.

Well, a lot has happened since the Teles. I now have three Strats to go with them, all AmPro II's, but one is a Sweetwater GT11 version.
I just reached one of those points where I was maybe plateauing with the Les Pauls and didn't feel very creative. The Fenders have unlocked it again and honestly I am playing the Strats more than anything lately.

I always go through phases. And I tend to go all-in when I do, so here we are.

HEHE, So, did you not get any HH or HSS Strats when you got em?

Nah. I figure let the Strats be Strats. I have Les Pauls for putting the hammer down, and the Tele Deluxes nicely split the difference between the Strats and LPs.
I gotcha g.

Are your 3 Strats all stock with the same pups, switching, pots? Or have you Modded 1, 2 ,3 of them

All stock pickups, the only mod is a changed pickguard on one of them because I can't stand tortoise. Two of them are "regular" American Professional II's, with the stock V-Mod pickups. The other one is a Sweetwater GT11 AmPro II that has Fat '60s pickups stock as well as a roasted maple neck with an 11" radius and also a 6-screw bridge instead of the usual 2-point. That one is the best overall but all three are great in their own way. In fact, I'd say that overall this line is my favorite Strat that I have owned, it's a great combination of features and a good bargain.

I play more acoustic in the summertime it seems. Front porch guitar at least until the neighbors complain... serenading all the alkies staggering homeward totin' bags from the liquor store

Last evenings' set included sketchy versions of "Wish You Were Here" " Take The Long Way Home" just enough "Landslide" to be super annoying, some "Alice's Restaurant" (main riff only) and, currently working to get back a semi-jazzy "Just The Way You Are" which at one time I had nailed down pretty good, now trying to reclaim (and failing pretty hard at it I might add) with little or no chops.
