Who will sit upon the Throne of Bro? C-Grin or SG John? Couch Crash!

Which bro is going to come through for you?

I also gotta point out, @SG John is on the east coast. He's a Massachusetts guy. I'm also east coast. It's a much easier trek to go from Maryland to Massachusetts than it would be for me to go to Oregon to crash at @C-Grin 's pad.

But, I am curious about the Massachusetts cuisine. Here in Maryland, the big thing is blue crabs with Old Bay seasoning at the ready. I'm wondering what the signature Massachusetts delicacy might be.

Lots o‘ lobstah. If you don’t want to do the work, plenty of places for Lobstah Rolls. Then there’s always fish and chips (we were an English colony), and many other seafood options.

Plus, we have lots of classy local options. No Red Lobster locations here. This is one of my favorites. I‘m one of the rowdy regulars.

Sounds awesome! I love lobster and I can crack the claws and get at the meat in the tails just fine.

Fish and chips are also fine and quite dandy.

If I had any doubts, they're gone. I'm goin' to SG John's. Maybe he can teach me some German while I'm there, too. That would be a serious bonus.

I believe I am close to making my vote decision, I was going to ask to see a bar, or beer fridge,
but then I realized that might present a problem, and I'm certainly open to abiding by any house rules.
I think what's going to seal the deal for me, (since I'm going to have some time on my hands) is maybe
a patio or deck where I can sunbathe semi-nude while listening to angry political podcasts via your
wifi.

I should also add, both of you bros present very compelling arguments and I appreciate your efforts thus far.
It seems that both of your do realize Legendary TTR Top Reigning Bro Status is at stake here, this
is no small thing.

Do they eat anything interesting in the Portland area? Any local dishes of interest?
I imagine they have pretty decent seafood over there too, amirite?
I do love a good variety of sushi, but I'm imagining guacamole toast is The Big Deal over there

Here‘s a shot of the booze rack. 30 bottles of various French, German, and Italian wine. Various libations on top. Some hand imported by me. A few from my home town in Germany. I‘ve got another cabinet with some various bottles of Champagne. All French or German. I won‘t drink Round-Up, or serve it to guests.

No photos of the back yard. It still hasn’t been nice enough to go outside and clean the winter mess.

Currently I have a pound of 100% Kona that I brought back from Hawaii and a bag or organic Honduran and Guatemalan blend going. The Kona is for the weekend.
Unfortunately. That bribe be won't work with me. Don't drink coffee. But I do get the Kona coffee. I;m told it's quite good. My wife will occasionally order some from a place in Kailua-Kona she found while we were walking along Ali'i Drive. Also orders some from a coffee shop in Kauai. Kalaheo Cafe and Coffee Company. She likes the stuff.

Portland has good food, but nothing that is its own per se. But the city has gone food cart crazy lately. There is some seriously good Asian cuisine and when the Salmon are running fresh fish for days.
But I had to quit drinking so no drinking partner, but it doesn’t bother me to be around it. As far as nude sunbathing, we live near Portland which rains 9 months a year so that is hit or miss at best. I do however have a heat lamp I could pull from the turtle tank :ROFLMAO:.

Where else can you go visit a 30 foot Paul Bunyan, then go to the Dancing Bare strip club right around the corner. ;)

I can‘t do better than the all the pre U.S. history like the freedom trail, battle road in Lexington, Salem Witch Trials, many related museums and graveyards, maritime history, and fun local stuff like whale watches or the history of the drunk elephant who was shipped to Salem. Unfortunately you don’t get a 60 foot tall neon Paul Revere, because New Englanders aren’t really into that kind of thing.

Thats a funny story about the elephant. I have always wanted to spend time back east but other than a couple airport layovers never been east but for a couple trips to flo-rida. My nephew lives in Tampa.

If you’re a tea drinker, so is my wife. We have an exceptional collection of really good tea. Because we both travel so much, we have found some really nice tea shops, and refill the stock whenever possible.

If you want a really good, in depth history of Salem, and it’s influence in the development of the U.S., my friend Chris wrote an in depth book about Salem from the mid 1600s until just after the war of 1812.

Wow ..another tough one.

First off, these guys BOTH have some serious cultured lifestyle appeal. I think in a lot of cases, like mine, it would have just been someone's "everyday" house in the suburbs. These guys got something different. Good, different.

I always though John was from ..like Sweden or something, but something about Boston really sums up why I thought this. I've been there once for work many years ago and it was beautiful cultured experience. It was at a time when there was a MAJOR road construction thing going on downtown, so the traffic was the worse I've personally be in in my life. This was around 1998-1999.

Grin looks like he's in the country and THAT is pretty cool. His place looks cozy and extremely non pretentious. Kinda place you smell breakfast cooking in the morning. Hell, I could shack back in the debris in that barn and feel like I was a kid again in fort. Lol. Dog would be cool as well and contributes so well to that environment.

Cats are cool at John's ...I have two and know the passing by my face grazing it with their perched tail in the air and their cholate chip rectums. I'm not a seafood fan though I do like cod and other white fish. Ocean is pretty cool I have to say. See, these are the special things these dudes have.

Hard call. They are both genuine "Dudes" that would be cool to hang with although I see more of a general guy/PIG type bond with Grin and I like that. John seems almost on the sophisticated side and I might feel a little "uncultured" to that in a live-in experience with him. He might seem too grown up, I guess I could say. John might say something like "Care to join us..." while Grin would say "Wanna....". You see. Lol

I need to think on this one.
