Ambassador of Hold My Beer
Actually new amp and cab, belated. I had to be sure before I stuck my foot in my mouth again. The EVH 5150 Stealth I bought didn't work out. It was too high gain, too modern, too compressed or something, I just couldn't gel with it. To make a long story short skipping what led to it, I ended up finding this used Ceriatone King Kong on Reverb and snatched it up. It was built by Ceriatone (not a kit) in 2018. It's a Hot Rod Plexi with 2 Channels than goes from a basic hot rod plexi on Channel one to ballz out old school metal on channel 2 with tons of tone shaping switchable options. It has amazing clean tones should I ever need them, and all the gain I could ever want, but in an old school Marshall way. It's the amp I've been looking for!
I also sold my Mojotone 212 cab and replaced it with an EVH 212 cab that sounds way better than the Mojotone cab with my Creamback 65s. I took the EVH logos off and now it looks like it was made to match. I'm in tone heaven with this new setup.
I tried to get good clear pics, I even used a tripod, but this is the best I could do. (click on pics for full size and blurry)
It came with gold tip knobs that I couldn't see where they were set because of the glare so I replaced them with black knobs with white markers...much better.
Some gut shots, it's a work of art inside..
Here's a screenshot of the description from Ceriatone. It has a ton of switching options that all work together to shape the overall tone.
