So anyway…having witnessed a few new amp and/or cab days pass, for a few members here, over the last few months…I felt that I should perhaps make some kind of contribution.
It’s my New CheapAss Amazon Empty Cab Day!!!
Yep! That’s right! This thing was dirt cheap! So cheap, I’m sure I’ll end up paying for it later!
Beside my favorite chair, reside a pair of small guitar amps(and a small bass amp) for random jamming purposes. Until now they’ve been running along fine with a single 1x12 each. Now I just had to go and create a disturbance in the force, and add another 1x12 to the mix…
Enter the Sound Town closed back 1x12 cabinet!

Turns out to be a dark ringer for that Orange PPC112 hiding down there, to the left of the chair. Approximately the same dimensions…
But…

…This one is, what looks to be, all birch ply construction! (I don’t think that’s what’s under the tolex of the Orange
)

It’s fairly thick too!!! However, I certainly wouldn’t want to go through the trouble of changing that grill cloth…just because it didn’t match up with the room well enough…it would involve pulling the baffle, and removing a massive quantity of staples…there may be some industrial adhesive too.
Whatever…
I tossed in a speaker that hasn’t seen much use lately…

Wired it up to its pair of parallel jacks…

….and I’m warming up the tubes, to take it for a spin!
Edit: Yep!!! It works!
