My amps

The funny thing is, this meme unwittingly encapsulates the deal Mrs. Krashpad and I made long ago.

I told her she need never buy me another present, of any kind, ever. Instead, from time to time I would make purchases which I would always consider to be a gift from her. In return, I promised to never buy something that wasn't a good deal (believe it or not, I'm very frugal), nor would I ever buy anything that would put a strain on our finances.

This has worked out perfectly for us. It's a win-win. She doesn't have to shop for me or try to research music gear in which she has no interest and of which she has no independent knowledge, and I get exactly what I want at far better prices than she could manage.

A lovely system based on common sense!

Was this last photo taken at a Christmas Market in Europe somewhere? Mrs. Krashpad and I did that last November. We hit the ones in Colmar, Heidelberg, Koln, Bruges, and Paris.

That photo was taken at the Christmas market in Catania, Sicily. Usually we hit Mainz, Freiburg, or Berlin. The market in Mainz we go to often because I have family there, and it's only a half hour from Frankfurt. It makes for a nice quick weekend visit after Thanksgiving. Last year we just happened to be in Catania with a charity that my wife is involved with. It was the first weekend of the market.

Cool, your German must be a lot better than mine. Actually I only know a few phrases. My French is pretty decent though. In November we're going to northern Italy and Switzerland. We have friends just outside Bologna. I need to learn some Italian phrases! My wife speaks Spanish fluently but so far we haven't been to Spain. Goals. ;)

It’s not as good as I wish it was. But others, including Germans think it is quite good. I do well mixing with the locals and tourists not knowing I’m an American. I hate when I’m out having fun and all of a sudden have a few new friends looking for a translator.

I have seen it before. Must take quite some time to set up.

It's a fanatstic collection. Nice variety, most of mine are Marshalls.
I have some pics from a few years ago. Had to do em in 2 shots, can't set em all up at once.
Some have changed and I need to do some new shots.
They almost all get played out except the Yamaha THR and Marshall Lead 12.

The 6505 combo is gone as is the JMD1 head seeing as I found a JMD combo. The full size head means I need a full width cab too and give that I might as well just use the JVM. Combo gives lots of versatility for smaller venues.

The 3 channel Traynor head is also gone.

I have added a Traynor YCV4050 in a lovely deep green, very ballsy amp with a Creamback 65. A hidden gem.
Also a Mesa MkV 35 just a super little combo. Hard to find a combo witb 2 dirty channels. Then the TC100. Very Marshally sounding. Versatile.
Mojotone angled 2x12 cab.

Will take pics and reviews of the 2 new ones.

Sweet amps! Lovin the Traynor and the Boogie

Okay. You guys shamed me into it. Here's my "HUGE" collection.

Bought this in 1974. YGM3. 20 watts. Single 12" Original Marsland 12" has been replaced with a 12" Celestion V30.

This is an early 70s Vibro Champ. 5 kick butt watts into a single 8" This one actually came with my bride when we got married in 78. She plays guitar as well, just not often these days.

And lastly. This is my youngest kid's bass amp. At 400w going into 4-10"..... it'll make the bedroom walls vibrate and windows rattle if you want it to. Don't ask me how I know. It also makes a decent acoustic amp. My Ovation acoustic will feed back at almost no volume running thru the Traynor. Messing around one day I plugged into the bass amp. Don't remember that I ever did get it to feedback. Never really figured that one out.

Nice amps! But i have a heart for the Traynor. I don't own one yet, but maybe one day.
