Kinda makes me wonder...if somebody told AC/DC that they were in a "Battle of the Bands - 1968 to 1980" on some music forum, and they were told that they nearly got defeated by The Rolling Stones, and did eventually get edged out by The Who...would they be disappointed or think they had suffered an injustice?

Part of me thinks they'd be okay with it.
Against the Stones? No, they'd be honored because they are the only band that AC/DC has opened for since post-1980, at the Toronto SARS Concert. Against The Who, however? Yeah, they'd be rightfully and openly pissed lmao they were NOT fans

Really? I didn't know that. Interesting to know.
Pete Townshend ran his mouth about AC/DC in an interview back in 1990. He was discussing writing new music and mentioned AC/DC, who has just released The Razor's Edge. He said "AC/DC made 50 albums, but all of their albums were the same. It wasn't the way The Who worked. We were an ideas band". ( Which is ironic, because he was referring to The Who in a last tense, because they had just broke up for a SECOND time)

He later gave a half-assed compliment saying they (Ac/DC) " stuck to their guns and never sold out" but then criticized their song writing in the same breath. This is what lead Angus to say " "I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same, In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same."

Malcolm had previously said that " My Generation" was one of the four songs that changed his life. But later on, after being slagged by the pompous Brit Rocker with a VERY questionable past involving photos of underaged boys; Malcolm would dismiss The Who's influence and state that The Rolling Stones and The Beatles were the only influential British Invasion bands
