GlassvsBrass

I’ve got an ebony one. Came with an amp I bought from a music store online.

I have glass, chromed steel, brass, some weird phenolic plastic thing (from the dude in Austin who makes Square Amps), and copper.

I prefer thick-walled glass for the feel.

I carry around a deep wall 5/8” Craftsman socket (with the drive end cut-off and beveled) and use it the most, because I can drop it and it won’t shatter.

Thick glass my choice I use my middle finger for slide
I tried to use my pinkey finger. Just didn't work for me. Don't know if that goes back to when i did a hairline fracture on the pinky side of my hand or not. But there ya go. What little I've done, I've been using the ring finger.

This is the slide I carry around:

I rarely play slide. When I do on the resonator it's glass.
Live, I use chrome. I have a brass one with a curved shape for using with a Les Paul fingerboard. Just cause that's what I found. I sometimes drop em so they need to be metal. On the pinky, too . We only do 2 songs with slide and i cheat. I tune A string to G, ignore the Low E and only play high E on the right frets. Works for pseudo G tuning.
