Dairy Queen abruptly closes 24 locations©Image uploaded from CC Composite Editor ( id : 133887 )
Dairy Queen has announced the sudden closure of 25 of its locations, but fans may be able to snag their own blizzard machine as a result. The iconic fast food and ice cream chain, famously owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway , is auctioning off the contents of two dozen locations in Texas

I haven't stepped foot in a Dairy Queen in probably 40 years. Couldn't even tell you where one is. So, not surprised.

Dairy Queen is an iconic landmark of Western Civilization. Hamburger, fries, chocolate milkshake. What is wrong with the world?
People are eating healthier now days, food has changed and Dairy Queen didn't change with it.

It's been less than 40.... but it's been a while. And then it was only for a milkshake for the road.

Yeah, and I haven't been in a McDonald's since around 2002, and only then because I was on a cross-country trip in the middle of nowhere and it was either that or the food in the gas station that shared a parking lot. In retrospect I chose poorly, should have gone with the gas station chow.

We have a Dairy Queen where I live and another in the next town over.

I stop in maybe three or four times a year.

I gotta say I like the FlameThrower burger.

Even so, I eat very little fast food, anymore. I tend to prefer places where I can sit in a relaxing environment.

I do occasionally hit McDonalds. But only for something fast I can eat while driving. But not even once a year. I used to stop there for a milk shake to go…. But their ice cream machines never seem to work.

WV is pretty damn rural even by its best measure; so surprisingly, DQ is one of the fast food joints you'll find almost anywhere here.

The best scam for years, was right here in my town: Our DQ was the old school one and it was ran by a dentist who has his practice literally right next door. You would go in for a cleaning and he'd give you free DQ coupons, so it's guaranteed repeat business lol.

It's since closed and is now a janky local restaurant that specializes in Hepatitis as the house special

Where we live we are between the Pacific Ocean and my hood. There still is a DQ on the highway going to both places and they were always a place you stopped at to get something. It’s been years though since we stopped in, well I guess since the kids grew up.
I have not had DQ in at least 5 years. No more fast food for me at this point, maybe Subway if I get desperate.

Since we upped our home cooking game, we barely eat in "good" restaurants these days. Thought of fast food makes us want to puke.

One of my high school girlfriends worked at DQ, that was great girl friend ;). Although we broke up and my free peanut busters were over, that was a bad day. :ROFLMAO:

Say c- grin,im takin a guess but that DQ you speak of is that in Oakridge Oregon ??
Not that one, but I have traveled that way to K falls many times. But there is 2 one on the way to Guvment camp in Rhodendron on mt hood. And one on the way to the coast in Manning. Both on opposite ends of 26.
There is a pretty good gas station food stop in Oakridge though ;)

We used to go all through there back years ago camping .how me and the wife stumbled onto Paulina Lake campgrounds.
I’ve never been out to that lake but spent a lot of time around Bend, my grandmother had a little place there when I was a kid. Still have family in that area. We stay at Sunriver every couple years.
