OK Scorpions with a decisive victory over Dio. I mean, are there even any Scorpions in Germany, other than the band?
I guess it doesn't matter, this means the Scorpions have earned the right to take on the winner of this next exciting match
for 80's Rock supremacy. I do like that the last four bands really do have an international presence.

Both bands REALLY knew how to craft songs, and put on great rock shows, and had good chart success.
 
Alright, so now this SHOULD end this embarrassment and send Def Leppard packing lol. Sorry: first two albums are great and the 3rd is decent but that ultra saccharine, bubble gum $hit they turned to, ended any all respect I had for them

Crue might not be perfect, but at least they had some attitude, some balls and could spit out bangers. And besides: Mick Mars is the most unheralded guitarist in this entire contest and could write cooler riffs than nearly any band on here!

It's Crue and for the love of God, don't tell me Def Leppard makes it out of this round lol
 
On the strength of the first 2 or 3 records and how much of an influence they were on me my vote is for the hearing impaired spotted feline. Both bands started strong and in my opinion got stupid. But DL still can get it done and the Crue has been cooked for a long time, so that’s a factor too for me. I still think Mar’s riffs are kick ass.

Took the words out of my mouth.

The second DL record is fantastic, but as I have said before, the first Crue album is a game-changing, era-defining all time great. Crue for the win.
 
I like both bands and would not dispute either of them earning a spot in the finals.
I'm probably a bit biased toward bands that just play plain old rock and roll.
Flashy stage theatrics start to look kinda gimmicky after a while...
IMO, Def Leppard was more consistent in the long run and gets my vote.
 
While I agree Mick generated some GREAT riffs, so did Def Leppard. Overall I view Motley Crue as not much more than a nastier KISS, with far less staying power.
Def Leppard brought the goods without the devil gimmicky and bad boy hype. It's just far more honest, even as it had to adapt with the times. I vote Leppard.
