We just got hit with a storm storm that came from Texas, two days ago that left us with 20cms of the white stuff. has started snowing this morning and ending tomorrow night with this storm from California. I haven't seen this much snow come here in over 30 years, here in the banana belt.

Winter Storm Warning
Issued at Sat 6:14 AM Feb. 15
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Highly impactful winter storm this weekend.

What:
Total snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 6 cm per hour.
Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Slippery surfaces and light ice build-up from freezing drizzle.

When:
Beginning this morning and ending Sunday evening. The heaviest snow is expected Sunday.

Additional information:
A potent low pressure system will bring another impactful winter storm to the area. Periods of snow, at times mixed with freezing drizzle, will begin this morning bringing general snowfall amounts up to 10 cm by late this evening. Snow will become lighter tonight with a risk of freezing drizzle.

Conditions will rapidly deteriorate Sunday morning as a more significant area of snow and blowing snow arrives. An additional 10 to 20 cm is likely. Travel will be hazardous and is not recommended, particularly on Sunday.

###

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

Stay safe. Careful clearing snow once it quits. You and I aren't pups anymore.

We've had a couple storms come at us in the past week or so. Weather guys was giving us the gloom and doom forecasts. One they originally had us in a 8-9" forecast, All said and done.... we got a slight glaze of freezing rain. Made the drive slick was all. Roads were fine. This last one for this weekend. Same story. Started out at over 12" over three days. Looks like we're going to end with 1/2 that.

Currently from last nights snow I have a few inches to clear. But more coming today. Forecast says slight chance in an hour. Radar says otherwise. Once it starts it could go for an hour or so.... so just going to wait it out. Clear once. Got no where to go..... so no biggy.

Texas?

I wouldn't have done that to ya!

It's a perfect 72 imperial degrees here.

Ultimately, we haven't gotten the snow amounts originally forecast..... however, our Canadian brothers and sisters are sending a Polar Vortex over the next several days. Not accounting for the "feel like" temperatures, real temps are headed for the negative single digits F below zero. For the north of the border crowd... that'd be colder than -17c to -20C. I had to look it up. Can do MM to Inches in my head. Haven't been able to do same with F to C.

Thanks. Yes i will, slow and steady as they say. The Condo Corp has a landscaper that removes our snow, but i like to do my own as long as i'm able. Some of those guys with their shovels can be careless at times. I seen one guy hit my neighbor's car with the shovel, so i opened my door to tell him , i see what you did there, and let my neighbor know about it. Thankfully no damage was done. But you know full well, if nobody sees it , chances are they wont say they did it .

So I do around my vehicle and the steps, if its a lot of snow, i let their plow driver take the rest away.

I have to clear my own. The sidewalk pretty much always with a shovel. But the drive.... if only an inch or two of light fluffy stuff I shovel. Much deeper than that or wet heavy snow, I have a snow blower. My drive is about 125ft long. Don't care how cold it is our, in the about 45 minutes it takes to do I can work up a pretty good sweat.:pound-hand:

When I mention clearing my "long" drive..... this is what I mean. From where I'm taking the photo to the mail box at the street is approx 125ft.

All that snow is gross.
We haven't had any for a bit.
But temps still awful for rest of week. Been 2 weeks already.
Check out the windchill feels like temps.

Not that it matters that much in a conversation on winter weather. But trying to watch the Daytona 500. They even moved up the start time an hour due to impending weather. Made it 12 laps before throwing the caution/red flag and parked the cars till the track is dry again. Based on what I saw on the radar screen. I'll be watching the 500 on Monday.
