Battle of the Bands 1968-1980

Just extended a bit to include a couple of important rock bands. we will stop at SIXTEEN.
The way we are going to choose is...
I will name two bands

Other posts to follow will add two different bands, and second one of my choices.
The next person will add two different bands and endorse any previous nomination with EITHER a second or a third.
Once a band gets 3 votes... they will be added to the original 16 in the UPCOMING Battle of the Bands 1970's version tournament ladder.

@JohnnyGoo I think some key groups you mentioned are going to be in no matter what. You may have a chance to boost an outlier!
Ultimately this tourney is going to come down to four rather predictable bands most likely.

Update post #1 with a list of nominations and # of 2nds for each until locked in.
Perhaps clarify the nominate two new, endorse (2nd) a previous nomination.
It's going to get more difficult for a new poster to track everyone's responses as the thread grows.
