Yeah That's Neil

Norm….political clickbait is “political”. I wasn’t gonna bite, but…
Norm, I have a feeling that this one will either get locked or worse.

Might consider deleting or revising and just posting a link to the actual song on Youtube or something.
Chili got my attention with this…thanks Mark.
Probabilities of thread-nuke are high. Not for the song, but for the article.
@Session 5 I would heed the advice of Mark…it is sound.

I didn't put it on here to be political. It just talks about the type of guy he is. His music has been political all his life. He's just a rough tough guy, that's all i am meaning by putting it here. He is what he is. He writes music, its out there for everybody, if one doesn't like it, don't listen to it. There's lots of music out there i don't agree with, i just turn the channel.

Wouldn't be the first time he's written a song in less time than it takes to do it. The song "Ohio" was written pretty quickly as well.
Yeah, supposedly CSNY were all sitting around and David Crosby was reading the May 15th, 1970 issue of LIFE magazine about the Kent State Shooting, while Neil Young had already been looking at it earlier. David Crosby started pontificating about how it was wrong and immoral. Neil Young was quiet and just got up, walked away with his guitar and wrote the song within 20 minutes

The other part of this story. “Teach Your Children” had just hit Top 20 on the charts in the U.S. They recorded “Ohio” and rushed it into production and to the radio stations….. which ultimately knocked Teach Your Children down the charts. And if memory serves, it had only been there a couple weeks when Ohio got dropped.

Yeah I read that they literally recorded it in LA just a few days on May 21, 1970 and Ahmet Ertegun flew the master tape to NYC to have it produced and released by June 4th. It came out less than a month after the shooting

I became a Neil Young fanboy somewhere around the time of Woodstock….. as a youngster still in HS. Part of what I liked then and still like today….. whether he agrees or disagrees with “current events” he is not shy to say/sing his opinion. And equally not shy of stepping on toes if he feels they need stepped on.
