My name is Larry, user name LB1. I am 67 years old, father of three, grandfather of five. I am a retired lithographer who also worked in the electronics business, post printing as an assembler of avionics equipment back when that was still being done in the U.S., circa 2001. I play a little guitar and bass, enjoying classic rock n' roll, country, pop, and especially blues music. I began tinkering with tube type amps in 1981 when I purchased a "dead" Princeton Reverb('65) for $50 and repaired it's grounding problem and I was hooked. I didn't get nearly enough time to pursue such endeavors while working and raising a family and my retirement has been fraught with health issues, but am now trying to get involved once again. I have worked on Fender's, Vox amps, a few Marshall's, and assorted other platforms over the years as time allowed. I have stocked a decent workshop full of sundry parts and quite a bit of test equipment, and also have a number of modification platforms such as tube type stereo amps, organ amps, and other such tube related equipment that I purchased mostly from eBay to pass the time with. I hope to turn some of this into guitar amplifiers and probably just give them away to those in need/want of a tube type practice amp. I consider myself a newbie, pretty much devoid of talent and hope to learn from those who DO have talent and post here. Perhaps I can get advice here that will educate me in the finer techniques of repair and modification and learn some needed theory as well. Perhaps, I may even have something to offer others in time.
Welcome Larry
