1981 Explorer CMT curly maple top but looks flamey. Oddly a dark stained maple body. Factory Kahler equipped. DiMarzio super distprtion Pups. Flame maple neck.

Awesome looking wood grain.

Hmmmm. Possibly? He said twas a factory Kahler but yeah that makes me wonder. Did they even make a gold Kahler?

Is it an E2 or a CMT? They were both two entirely different models. I’ve always wanted to get an E2 to go with my V2 for the matched pair.

It says it's a CMT but for some reason the CMTs had an E2 on the TR cover for some unknown reason when I looked them up

Yes, but you could change out the tuners to chrome for a fraction of the cost of a gold Kahler.

Yes, but you could change out the tuners to chrome for a fraction of the cost of a gold Kahler.

I see they originally would have been a gold Kahler and gold pickup covers. I prefer the black coils.
I guess I could get chrome locking tuners. What particular type fits these? Screw holes the same, etc. I know they aren't universal

Schaller tuners were stock pickups were dirty fingers stock

There's a few on Reverb that all look to have the fine tune stop-bar and black open coil pups.
I agree the black pups look good with the black pick guard.

I guess you could wait and get some measurements when it arrives to make sure yours is the same.

Yeah I would have to. No hurry and no point guessing. I saw some with the TP6 tailpiece and 1 with a gold Kahler and gold hardware.
There were some pics of back of headstock too
Looks like single screw. I see some chrome single screws locking Grover at my dealer.
