BillBoard Names Best Rock Band Of 21st Century

Nickle back? what's nickleback? Nickelback shmikelpat?
never heard of it.
"that's" the best band of the 21st century?
Billboard doesn't know much about music, do they?
Santana is #98. I would have probably put Santana in the top 10 at least.

Formed in 1995, Nickelback released a series of albums since 2000 that have been hugely popular in Germany, the UK, and the US. It’s no surprise they rank among the rock giants of this century. On the Billboard list, they secured the 26th spot, outshining every other act in the genre.

Discussing a May 5, 2003 study released by the American Psychological Association on how violent lyrics can cause violence in people; comedian Brian Posehn single handedly launched the backlash on Nickelback with this epic line on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn

And the rest is history. Nickelback actually even says this was the moment that made people turn on them and hate Brian Posehn to this day for it lmao

Well, I've never been one to follow the masses. Did you know that Taylor Swiffer is one of the all time greatest guitarist? ;)
Steve, I have lived that statement in music choices over many years.
Trends come and go.
Give me something with an edge and some grit.
Besides, everyone knows Billboard is about money .
At the end of the day , they don’t care who’s on top or for how long.

They really got the bad deal in the USA. I have my reasons why. I didn't care for them much but I must say some of that was the American negative influence on them.

Americans like to play Canadians as not being "dirty" or "criminal" enough.

Living in a town in the Canadian hinterlands very much Iike Hannah Alberta, actually quite a bit smaller. But back in the 80's Hanna was probably nearer how bleak and devoid of career prospects and pretty much every urban opportunity as mine is right now... knowing the steady civic growth rates in that province.

They somehow managed to escaped the "roughneck" trap most of the boys small town i came up with at the same time. Many of them functional alcoholics until the turn of the century and beyond. Though I do know they weren't no angels either. I saw the doc and thought "holy crap! That was me!"

Anyway, for those dudes to do what they done, and how their families supported them... and the health stuff the band went through... not exactly a Cinderella story.

I can't have anything but admiration for them as hard-working artists who toured hard on a lot of open empty prairie roads, much like the Guess Who did decades before, but I have to add building a weaker song catalog in the end.

Doesn't matter to me even if she was , I don't listen to her music, i put her music in with rap, i don't like eithier one.
No way I'm a "Swifty." Though not sure I'd place her music at the same level as Rap. I don't find her music offensive. Just not my thing.
