Gibson Studio Session new Release

Flame and a heel cut for $400 - the "regular" studio now has fretboard binding for $1599 but only comes in cherry burst and ebony.
I think they look nice, but I also like the unbound look of my '22 Studio wine red that I think listed for $1499 (?).
Seems like they're just mixing options so you can't compare to last year and see the price increases...

Its a nice guitar a standard could be had for a little more.

So why are you NOT looking?

It may be difficult to comprehend, even for myself, but I'm oddly content with what I have.

That is a beautiful guitar none the less.
Awesome burst fade and flame.
I'd shag this before one of those new Studios.

I like the honey burst myself. Vreat looking guitar.
I actually like all of the colors, they need to check their price. If I bought one it would be hard to pick. Ebony transparent , or smokehouse . I also like the honey burst.

Maybe next year BF it will be on sale. Once the epiphone went over a $1000 now the studio is $2000. They don’t plan on moving those to fast.

Interesting take on the Studio line. This new Studio Session is kind of a step more towards a Standard, with a twist.

I like the heel cut. It's interesting to see this applied to a lower-priced model in addition to the much more expensive Axcess line. I realize the cuts aren't exactly the same between these two models, but they are both incorporating the concept of a relief cut, even if the styles of the cuts, themselves, are different.

I'm not sure how I feel about the bound fretboard. On the one hand, yes, it does give the Studio line a bit of an aesthetic upgrade. On the other hand, part of the point of the Studio line was that it was a straightforward, down-to-business guitar that was idealized toward playing; hence, the more spartan appearance, while maintaining a quality build. Whereas, I don't think the binding is a bad move, per se, I think it would be more in keeping with the Studio concept to have dispensed with the nibs and just gone with a fret-over binding. Playing a "session" in a "studio" is hardly the situation where one might prioritize a bound fretboard, let alone one with nibs. But, perhaps I'm just picking the nit, here.

Having said that that, I do like it.

So now if you buy a new Gibson Les Paul guitar you need to spend over $3000.00 to get a case with it.
I like all the their ideas except one, pricing.
Bad time to raise prices.
Exactly why they put Dean guitars down.
Dean was putting a dent in the profit.

At 1,299 $ this beast you posted might just might also put a dent in there sales but Gibson owns Epi sooooo.I know tgeres folks that would never play a guitar that says Epiphone on the headstock but i got no problem with it.Screenshot_20241209_083722_Samsung Internet.jpg
