Turns out they have mighty fine Oranges in Fort Wayne IN after all. . One of the last pieces for the band room. Love Orange with Marshall/5150 in a mix together & the "dad rock" they call it that some of us grew up on. Zep, Sabbath, Stones, It flows out of these Orange amps. When you don't run pedals in the front end & use amp gain & guitar knobs for your attack, these rule ! Will post the first jam, Of Course SGJ gets the bid !

Ok, here is the rig & it worked out just like my OR15 & TH30 did. This is a touch sensitive lil monster from that very precise edge of breakup to pretty much the same aggression as the OR15 which was my amp for leads for a long time because of the precise saturation point without thinning out.

The prescence is a linear sweep no matter what the volume is. That & the 3 position treble boost shift switch makes this thing insanely versatile. It did do the heavies & stoner from the door but i got it for that edge of break & angry cleans.

Touch sensitivity is from just a ting response on pick attack to breaking crunch as you apply attack & then snappy bark single note jump with a quick pick smack.. The lil monster is alive. it really doesn't need reverb almost has that swirly 3d at certain setting before ya gain it up.

The greenbacks are key & my top cab is closed & bottom semi open. It is a shear joy to play, it invites chords then a dig then a crunch-all off just your guitar knobs. Its so old school if need be single channel tube rec sag or boom in your face attack. Backing the bass off does tighten up for modern attack if one must. I love my 5150's but i will write on this more so because favoring clean chords to build songs , they just seem so much more musical than so much gain, especially if you sing , the 5150's are the best high gain amp ever used as far being musical & adapting to any style any genre. This thing is the compliment with it.

Congrats on the Orange, and that was fun to watch. My favorite part, and I can relate to: "We always record that first sniff... you never know what's coming out of here!".

Congrats on the Orange.

I never knew you had a railroad connection.
I am going to retire next year out West.
Not 30 years. I started at 45. After being furloughed in 2019 , I end up with about 19 years.
Cool man ! Sometimes i look back & should of just went right into shops with my dad in 1983,Yes sir, My family help build the bridges across the Susquehanna, masons & then dispatchers & track workers Harrisburg PA & the Enola hump yard.
Dad was part of the gang in Lancaster PA that built the prototype silver box's you see every certain distance apart, They basically turned the RR into a model railroad as it computerized from 1970's up. I was amazed at his retirement when wetoured the shop & saw all the boxs & how they rigged the RR to be monitored & ran almost on itself.

here is My Pop Pop in late 1920's with the oak sticks to pass the the info to the train as it rolled by. I have them hanging on my wall
also, the Harrisburg Train Station Clock from way back

Finally got a chance to mess with it. Only had time for cabinet hop. Really like this amp. pretty rough vise but wanted to use the bright switch back n forth. The ability to use that presence in tandem with the gain in a linear manner allows this to dial in exactly any guitar exactly where you want it. Well thought out amp.

Those are very cool historical pieces you have.
The thing about RR is the older contracts were real good but the wages are higher now. Of course it didn’t take nearly as much money back then as it does now.

The up side, even though we pay 2 retirements , we get the greater of the 2 . In the old days you could draw 2 pensions.
RR retirement pays a bit more than SS.
